This river, by many the most beautiful river
in the entire country, is cherished by each community that has formed along her 207 kilometers. The Una is to the Krajina what the Neretva is to Herzegovina – life, and the life-giving forces of the Una have been revered throughout this region's history.
Una springs
from the northeastern slopes of the Stražbenica mountain, and flows through: Martinbrod, Kulen Vakuf, Ripac, Bihac, Bosanska Krupa, Bosanska Otoka, Bosanski Novi, Kostajnica, Bosanska Dubica . It flows into the Sava river near Jasenovac in Croatia. The main tributaries are the Unac, Sana, Klokot and Krušnica rivers.
Climate
along the Una watershed is continental with an average of 9,5 C. During hot summer months Una river has a low water-level. From november to the end of spring its water-level is quite high and sometimes even floods its riverside.
First huge waterfall
along its river flow is near of Martinbrod, settlement near the place where river Unac flows into Una. This part of Una flower is most impressing, because tuff created many canals, rapids, small islands and some big waterfalls (the biggest is about 55 meter)
Accomodation offer
along Una river is very good: hotels, weekend houses, rooms, pensions… Some of these accomodation even have their own beaches on Una.
