About Vlasic
Small, but more and more popular ski centre, is situated on the Babanovac plateau, at the altitude of 1260 m.
The Vla?iæ is a high mountain ridge than dominates its surroundings like a giant fortress. With its forests, pastures and numerous springs it is a tourist site of major importance in the region. The highest peak is called Paljenik and rises up to 1943 m (6375ft) above sea level. Mt. Devecani (1760m) and Mt. Galica with their numerous well marked routes are attractive targets for mountaineers. On the Babanovac (1260m) which is linked to Travnik by a 20km macadamised road, there used to bi a well known centre of winter sports with 6 ski lifts, 15 km of cross-country skiing trails and 4 ski jumps.
Position:
The ski centre is connected with the town of Travnik (20 kilometres) by a good tarmac road which is being kept in good condition during winter. Alternative coming route is via Banja Luka and Knezevo, but on this route the road is not being kept in good condition. A chance traveller can leave his vehicle on some of the parking lots which charge between KM 1.5 and 3, according to the parking time.
Ski resort:
Ski resort disposes with a few ski rentals with the equipment from the beginning of the carving era. The price of renting skiing equipment is 15 KM per day. It is possible for beginners to engage a ski instructor at an average price of KM 10 per hour.
Trails beside ski lifts Babanovac I and II and the baby ski lift are equipped with reflectors and they offer night skiing three times a week.
One day pass costs KM 19, half-day pass KM 14, and night skiing is KM 12. As for the baby ski lift, one day ski lift pass costs KM 12, half day ticket KM 8, night skiing KM 8.
